I really enjoy doing art projects, but with my disabilities it can be a little difficult. Thankfully with modifications I can still do a lot of art projects. We created a sunflower in my independent living class, and I would like to share how I was able to create this.
1. A staff put glue on the paper plate
2. Put piece of tissue paper in my hand
3. Staff brought plate up to the tissue paper in my hand to adhere
4. We repeated steps 2 & 3 until the plate was covered
5. Then, a staff asked where I wanted to put the pedals, she would ask "do you want it here?" and I would reply yes or no. When I said yes, she stapled the pedal to the plate.
6. To add the seeds, the staff put a black marker in my hand and helped me move my hand in small motions to draw the seeds.
I really liked this project and how the staff helped assist me.
