Molly was a beautiful chocolate lab. We had her for 12 years. She loved to go for walks, especially on the beach. She also love chasing balls and sticks. She loved spending time and being close to her family.
In December, before Christmas, mom noticed Molly's belly was hard and she was acting kind of funny. The vet said she had a tumor on her spleen but she was not a good candidate for surgery. They told us to enjoy the time we had left with Molly but they didn't know how long it would be.
On Father's day, Molly started to show signs she was ready to say goodbye. We had a vet come to the house to help us say goodbye. I lay on the floor with her and held her paw as she left this world. When it was all over mom and Ben buried Molly in our backyard.
It's really different without Molly around. There's nobody greeting people at the front door, nobody cleaning up spills on the kitchen floor, no body following me from room to room in the house. I'm glad Molly doesn't have to be in pain or scared anymore, but we all miss her.
